🟢Twickenham Nursery Worker on Trial for Child Cruelty Against 24 Babies

A Twickenham nursery worker has admitted to two counts of child cruelty but denies a further 22 charges, Kingston Crown Court has heard.

Roksana Lecka, 22, is accused of pinching, punching, and roughly handling babies aged 18 months to two years at Riverside Nursery, which charges parents up to £1,900 per month.

Prosecutors say CCTV footage over several days shows Lecka harming 23 children, including pinching faces, pulling hair, and striking their bodies while checking if colleagues were watching. Some children were left with visible injuries, such as scratches, red marks, and raised skin.

Parents gasped in court as clips were played showing babies crying or recoiling after Lecka’s alleged assaults.

Lecka, who previously worked with good references, was sent home on one occasion when staff noticed her behaving ā€œas if in a daze.ā€ She was later arrested on July 5 last year.

She denies most charges, stating she followed all nursery procedures and was unaware of any injuries.

The trial is expected to continue for five weeks.
