Do you recognise this man? Northumbria Police appeal after 12 year old girl is reportedly assaulted by having skirt lifted up and photo taken

Northumbria Police have issued an appeal to trace a man following a report of a sexual assault against a 12 year old girl.

A statement reads: “Between 8.45pm and 9pm on Thursday, August 29, it was reported a man had approached two girls in the Masefield Drive area of Biddick Hall.

The offender has then proceeded to lift up one of the girl’s dresses and take a photograph, before fleeing the area on foot.

The girl – aged 12 – was left shaken by the incident which was later reported to Northumbria Police.

A number of enquiries have been ongoing ever since the report was first made, including an extensive trawl of CCTV footage in the area.

Today, officers have shared an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the report.

He was believed to have been in the area at the time the incident took place, and may be able to assist the investigation.
