Sugar Sole in Market Square to close to pave way for new Tesco Express
Sugar Sole in Market Square is set to close next week in order to pave the way for the conversion of the property into a new Tesco Express.
The Bridges officially announced on its social media that the store will be shutting down on November 5th, with plans to set up the new supermarket having been in the wings for a long time.
The new Tesco store is seeking a quick turnaround to open its doors before the Christmas period.
The city centre has lacked a Tesco or any wholesale supermarket (besides Iceland) since the Metro store inside The Bridges itself closed in 2022.
