Roker Avenue man jailed after he was caught driving while banned for the 9th time
A Roker avenue man has been jailed after he was caught driving while banned for the 9th time.
William Trott, 44, had been arguing with his girlfriend in Houghton and got into a car. He ignored her warnings.
Someone tipped them off, and police were waiting for him at Roker avenue when he arrived home.
Trott experienced his first ban in 2014, and had already lost his driver’s license by 2020 by repeatedly driving when disqualified, increasing his ban more and more each time.
He continued to own a car despite being banned from driving.
In court he pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He was jailed for 16 weeks, and then given an additional driving ban of two years and eight weeks.
