Albanian Cannabis farmer who entered country illegally complains that UK prison food gave him haemorrhoids
🟢 A cannabis farmer caught growing drugs in a Newcastle suburb has claimed the poor quality of UK prison food gave him haemorrhoids.
Klodion Bicaku, 26, was found inside a £36,000 cannabis farm in a Gosforth terraced house in May. Police discovered the operation spread across the conservatory and bedrooms.
Appearing via video link at Newcastle Crown Court, Bicaku admitted producing cannabis and possessing a fake ID. His solicitor said he had been suffering from kidney issues and asthma, and blamed prison food for causing piles, describing his time in custody as “horrendous.”
Bicaku entered the UK illegally in 2022 after borrowing £15,000 to fund his journey, and now fears for his safety on return to Albania as he cannot repay the debt. He is set to be deported and has signed a declaration with the Home Office confirming his removal once eligible.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison.
