Role Overview
- Full-time administrative role within the Medical Education team
- 12-month fixed-term contract working 37.5 hours per week
- Based at Hopewood Park Hospital in Sunderland
- Provides administrative support for undergraduate medical student training and placements
Key Responsibilities
Medical Education Support
- Assist with administration for undergraduate teaching programmes
- Support delivery of the MBBS curriculum for Sunderland and Newcastle medical students
- Work closely with education leads, university staff and clinical teams
Student Placement Coordination
- Help organise clinical placements and teaching programmes
- Ensure timetables and resources are uploaded to university platforms
- Communicate placement information to students and clinical teachers
Administrative Duties
- Coordinate formal teaching sessions and student attachments
- Maintain records and update relevant databases
- Provide administrative support for meetings and minute taking
Operational Support
- Book rooms, organise catering and prepare teaching spaces
- Liaise with speakers and provide logistical support during teaching sessions
- Provide reception and administrative support for the department
Essential Requirements
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Experience working with confidential information
- Customer service experience in a busy environment
