Key Responsibilities
- Install, test and commission domestic and commercial Solar PV systems
- Install and commission battery storage systems
- Complete electrical wiring and containment in accordance with BS7671
- Carry out fault finding, maintenance and remedial works on existing solar installations
- Perform testing, inspection and certification of completed works
- Ensure work complies with MCS standards, health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Complete job documentation accurately using digital systems
- Maintain excellent customer service standards while working in occupied properties
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification
- Valid ECS or JIB Gold Card
- Recognised Solar PV qualification
- Recognised Battery Storage qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience installing Solar PV and battery storage systems
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
Desirable Experience
- MCS installation experience
- Experience with Tesla, GivEnergy, SolarEdge, Fox ESS, Sigenergy or similar systems
- Experience working on domestic retrofit projects
- IPAF or PASMA certification
About The Role
Rock-Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Solar PV Electrician in Newcastle upon Tyne for a full-time, permanent PAYE position.
The role offers £40,000–£50,000 a year depending on experience and involves working on domestic and commercial renewable energy projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will install, test and commission Solar PV and battery storage systems, complete electrical wiring and containment in accordance with BS7671, and carry out fault finding, maintenance and remedial work on existing installations.
The role also involves inspection, testing and certification of completed works, ensuring compliance with MCS standards, health and safety regulations and company procedures. Accurate digital job documentation and high standards of customer service are also required, particularly when working in occupied properties.
Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, an appropriate Inspection & Testing qualification, a valid ECS or JIB Gold Card, recognised Solar PV and Battery Storage qualifications, and a full UK driving licence.
