About The Role
MEI IT is looking for a talented and experienced Indian Chef to join its kitchen team as a Sous Chef. The successful candidate will help prepare high-quality dishes, supervise kitchen staff and support the smooth running of daily kitchen operations.
This role is suited to someone with professional kitchen experience, strong cooking skills and a passion for delivering excellent food and service in a busy hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to established recipes and quality standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Monitor stock, order supplies and ensure ingredients are stored correctly.
- Assist with menu planning and development.
- Train and support junior kitchen team members.
- Ensure food presentation meets required standards.
- Work with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong Indian cooking and food preparation skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Supervisory, team management and staff training experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of menu development and food presentation.
