ISIS Pub Ghost Hunt: Paranormal Investigators claim lights turned on and off on their own

A spirit seeking group investigating the historic ISIS pub claimed to have had a spooky experience, with lights turning on and off on their own accord and at verbal command.

The Ship ISIS, a pub on Silksworth Row dating back to the late 19th century, has long been associated with legends of haunting including the victims of Victorian era Serial Killer Mary Ann Cotton.

The ghost hunting group, known as kindred spirits, investigated the venue at midnight over the weekend and posted their story to social media afterwards. Here’s what they said.

First of all I’d like to thank everyone who attended our first event back from our summer break and kicking off spook season.

We started the night in the upstairs part of the building as one whole team before splitting up into two teams, where we did some calling out and got use to the noises of the building as it was quite close to a busy road and later did a human pendulum as a large group.

After we split off into two teams my teams stayed upstairs and did some table tipping the group experienced the table tipping off its four legs and steadily standing on one leg. We where getting some good responses on a spirit app from another guests we where getting words from the app such as “in the basement there’s darkness” so we decided as a group to investigate this further by doing a Ouija board session where we believe to get the spirit of Mary Ann Cotton and another spirit by the name of “Billy” who was aged 7 years, during the session we witnessed the rem-pod going off signalling a drop in temperature.

We decided as a team to move onto a different method of communication and started doing a portal session, the team experienced the portal say the name of “Billy”, when I asked what the date was the spit said “September” but sadly it was time to break for a quick tea break.

After the break we continued the portal session downstairs in the snug room we used a balloon and the rem bear along side the portal to see if we could try and communicate with Billy some more. Until……..members of the group started to notice that the lights where flickering and then started to pulse as a team we started calling out to the spirits to turn the lights off one member of the group who was recording it on her phone asked for the light to be turned off and as if by command the light where all off.

After a few moments we asked the spirits to turn the lights back on again and the lights came back on again. I then asked if the spirits could turn off the lights in the opposite room and again by command the lights went off in the opposite room.

We decided to relocate into the bar area to have a go at some scrying where members of the group experienced an image of a male spirit placing their image upon herself in the mirror, so decided to change around and try a male guest doing some scrying and we experienced a similar spirit placing his image onto this particular guest.
