Appeal for footage and witnesses after dog run over and killed in Ryhope with driver fleeing the scene

An appeal for witnesses and footage is being made after a driver in Ryhope ran over and killed a dog, before proceeding to leave the scene.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon at 16:43pm outside of the Go Local Convenience store in Ryhope, not far off the Post Office, leaving a family “heartbroken.”

Now, the mother of the owner, Melanie Wild, is making an appeal to see if anyone has any footage or information that can be used to identify the driver.

The car is described as a black Citroen.
