Former Wear Tavern pub in Pallion suffers paint attack all over facade

The former Wear Tavern pub in Pallion has suffered a large scale paint attack, splattering its historic green facade in black paint.

The former pub has been closed for some time and the property is preparing to be transformed into flats. However, the vandalism has provoked condemnation from councillors and local authorities.

Earlier today barricades were put in place around it, while councillors Karen Noble and George Smith are pushing the police to investigate and crack down on anti-social behaviour.
