Fundraiser for new defibrillator in Gilley Law in memory of late mother who died because she couldn’t teach one

A fundraiser has been organised to acquire a defibrillator for a late mother who died of a heart condition after being unable to access one in time.

Betty Hills, of Gilley Law, died at the age of 78 in July from a heart condition.

When 999 was called, the paramedics stated there were no defibrillators available within range of the area.

Now, her daughter Liza is doing the “three peaks challenge” in memory of her mam with the goal of seeking to acquire a new defibrillator for Gilley Law.

A local charity, The Red Sky Foundation has been instrumental in funding and installing defibrillators around the Sunderland area with the goal of saving lives.
