Role Overview:
Donwell Chippy is looking for a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for food and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve customers at the counter in a professional and welcoming manner
Prepare and assemble food items in line with company standards
Handle cash transactions accurately and confidently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
Follow food safety, hygiene and temperature control procedures
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required
Manage time effectively during busy periods
Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in food service or hospitality is desirable but not essential
Basic maths skills and confidence handling cash
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
Willingness to learn and develop new skills in the food industry
