About the Role
Holiday Inn Sunderland is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join its kitchen team. Working alongside the chefs, you’ll help prepare meals, maintain high food hygiene standards and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly while delivering an excellent dining experience for hotel guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal service
- Help maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment as required
- Monitor kitchen supplies and minimise waste
- Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures
- Report equipment faults and low stock levels
- Assist guests with queries where appropriate
- Support the kitchen team with additional duties during busy periods

Requirements
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience (minimum one year preferred)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Physically able to lift and move kitchen equipment when required
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and night shifts
- Reliable with a positive attitude
