Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission Solar PV systems
- Install battery energy storage systems
- Carry out electrical installation, testing and fault finding
- Install and connect electrical equipment, cabling and protection systems
- Work safely alongside other trades and installation teams
- Complete installations to a high standard and in accordance with relevant regulations
- Test and commission completed installations
- Identify and resolve electrical faults and installation issues
- Maintain accurate paperwork and installation records
- Follow company health and safety procedures
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites
- Travel to different project locations and work away from home as required
Requirements
- Valid driving licence
- Willingness and flexibility to travel and work away from home
- Working at Height certificate
- Manual Handling certificate
- Asbestos Awareness certificate
- Basic DBS check
- Valid CSCS or ECS card
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Inspection & Testing qualification
- Solar PV installation qualification
- Battery Storage / Energy Storage Systems qualification
About The Role
JDS Energy is recruiting an experienced electrician to join its growing team, specialising in Solar PV and Battery Storage System installations.
The role involves carrying out high-quality electrical installations on domestic projects while working alongside other members of the installation team. The successful candidate will need to be confident working independently, take pride in their work and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety.
Although the position is listed in Sunderland, the work involves travelling to project sites across the UK and regularly working away from home. Flexibility to travel is therefore essential.
The electrician will install and commission Solar PV systems and battery energy storage systems, carry out electrical testing and fault finding, and install associated equipment, cabling and protection systems. The role also includes maintaining accurate installation records and ensuring completed work meets relevant regulations.
Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Inspection & Testing, Solar PV installation and Battery Storage/Energy Storage Systems qualifications. A valid driving licence, CSCS or ECS card and the specified safety certificates are also required.
