About The Role

KEYFORT Group Ltd is recruiting an SEMH Practitioner to work across its Newcastle Alternative Provision sites at Great Park and Ouseburn.

The role supports children and young people who require Alternative Provision outside mainstream education. KEYFORT Group describes its approach as person-centred, with a focus on creating safe and consistent environments where young people can build confidence, routine, engagement and independence.

The successful candidate will work with young people on a one-to-one or small-group basis. They will plan and deliver individualised SEMH activities designed around each learner’s needs, interests and agreed outcomes.

The role will involve helping young people recognise emotions, triggers and physical signs, develop coping strategies and manage challenging situations. Practitioners will also support learners to communicate their needs and boundaries, develop social skills and healthy relationships, identify trusted sources of support and build confidence in advocating for themselves.

Activities should be creative and meaningful to individual learners. The successful applicant will record progress and work closely with the Lead Teacher and wider team.

The position is permanent and full-time, with 32.5 hours per week across 43.2 weeks of the year, including holiday. The advertised rate is £17.50 per hour.

KEYFORT Group provides training, mentoring and shadowing opportunities through its in-house professionals, including an RGN, Occupational Therapist and trained Psychologists. An enhanced DBS check will be paid for by the company.

Applicants must already have the legal Right to Work in the UK. The employer states that it cannot offer Certificates of Sponsorship and cannot arrange interviews for applicants working on sponsorship-restricted visas.
