Local animal charity appeals for food donations to help feed hedgehogs

A local animal welfare charity has put out an appeal for food donations as it seeks to help feed local hedgehogs around Sunderland while looking after its other animals.

Pawz for thought, based in Fulwell, primarily seeks to provide new homes for stray cats but also works with a variety of other animals too.

However, as they take on the work of feeding hedgehogs they are running out of cat food and their supplies are stretched for the strays they are looking after, leading them to put out an appeal on facebook.
