Man from Sunderland caught covertly filming two women in the shower

A man from Sunderland was caught covertly filming two women in the shower, even having entered one of the women’s homes as a trespasser.

Paul Shields attempted to do this multiple times, but got caught after one of the women spotted a camera above her bathroom door.

Horrified, she shouted at Paul, an intruder in her home, to leave and he fled by climbing out of the window he got in through.

The woman had previously experienced sexual harassment from Shields in the form of remarks and an unwanted gift of a vibrator, thus she reported him to the police and he was arrested.

Police seized his mobile phone and found the evidence of his voyeurism through videos he possessed.

The court heard that Mr. Shields experiences mental health issues, including ADHD, and is remorseful.

Investigation of his hard drive, however, soon revealed there was another victim.

Paul Shields, 55, of Blencathra Way, Chester-le-Street (originally Sunderland) pleaded guilty to 21 counts of voyeurism and was jailed for three years.
