Parents sound the alarm about infections spreading from Turkish barbers

A number of parents throughout Sunderland are sounding the alarm about an increase in infections on their children’s heads and scalps after using Turkish barber shops around the local area

As shown below, one parent shared with SGM this photo of their son’s head, who has suffered from a number of rashes and has a giant abscess. The infection came after they visited the Turkish Barbers next to ASDA Boldon.

SGM has also seen various screenshots from other parents also reporting similar infections in their children’s heads after visiting various establishments, including one in Ryhope, as well as another one in Hylton Castle.

The parents have subsequently criticised what they perceive to be a lack of hygiene in these establishments, allowing the infections to go from head to head, accusing the shops of being dirty, smelly and unclean.

In recent years the number of “Turkish Barber” establishments has exponentially increased around Sunderland and the North East, with their cheap prices attracting parents as the cost of living bites.
