Police issue appeal after driver hit car with two children in it in Grangetown and left the scene
Northumbria police have issued an appeal after a driver crashed into a car with two young children in it and fled the scene in Grangetown.
A statement reads: “At 19:03 on 24-08-24 a Red Ford Focus was driving at speed along Windsor Terrace (Grangetown) towards Ryhope and went around the round about in the left lane losing control of his car crashing into a Black Land Rover Discovery Sport which had 2 young children in the car (one of which was so distressed the audio had to be removed from dash cam footage and she is so frightened she doesn’t want to sleep on a night).
The car was traveling along Windsor Terrace on the side of Chip & Fish and Grangetown Workmans club before going all the way around the roundabout in the left lane crashing into the Black Land Rover taking off at speed up Queen Alexandra Road, and turning right down Sea View Road.
If anyone has any dashcam or CCTV that would cover any of these locations please please can you help, before the data is recorded over. Police are involved and any information big or small can be passed to Northumbria Police using crime ref number NP-20240824-0912.”
