Sunderland 2-1 Luton Town – Match Report

Amad Diallo stunner inspires a come back which sees Sunderland gain an advantage over Luton Town in the Championship play-off semi-final first leg.

Sunderland almost took the lead early on when Patrick Roberts’ shot forced a save by the ‘keeper.

Gelhardt couldn’t adjust his body enough to turn in the rebound.

Luton took the lead just after 10 minutes, as a corner was swung in and caused a scramble in the box.

The ball fired off the post before finding its way through to Adebayo who couldn’t miss.

Amad Diallo scored an absolute worldie for the second game in a row, 7 minutes before half-time.

Pritchard laid off a free-kick to Diallo, who curled it in beautifully from 20 yards-out.

After the goal, Sunderland dominated the game, and they continued to do so in the second-half.

With just less than half an hour left, Jack Clarke crossed the ball in towards Trai Hume, who smashed a header into the corner to put Sunderland ahead.

The Black Cats will travel to Kenilworth Road in the second leg, and they do so with a 2-1 lead!
