Sunderland man turned up to his own dad’s home and broke his jaw
A Sunderland man has been jailed after he turned up to his own dad’s home and broke his jaw in a violent attack.
Mark Hoggarth has a history of attacking his father, and was already under a restraining order since last year.
But on April 5th he violated that order, turned up at his house and attacked him.
The court heard he punched him in the mouth and knocked him to the floor suddenly, breaking his jaw and forcing him to have metal plates fitted.
Hoggarth, 36, of no fixed address, who has an extensive history of convictions, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and breaching his restraining order.
He was sentenced to 30 months in prison. His father had said he has not been able to return to normal and has been disfigured by the attack, impacting his diet and ability to chew and leaving him with constant anxiety.
