Volunteers needed to help assemble the Stadium of Light poppy display this evening

A local veterans group is looking for volunteers to help them assemble a poppy display at the Stadium of Light this evening.

Every year a tremendous poppy card display has been organised at the Stadium of Light in the view to remembrance Sunday.

A new group, this is Wearside, has taken over the provision of providing match day flags and banners after the folding of the Spirit of 37.

Now, Sunderland charity veterans in crisis are attending the Stadium this evening to help out up this year’s display for the weekend home game and are seeking volunteers.

The group are meeting at 18.30 tonight at the Bob Stokoe for anyone who wishes to join them.
