• Shift pattern: 07:00 – 15:30, across seven days

Role overview
• Assist in the provision of an integrated linen and uniform service
• Support Sunderland & South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust and commercial customers
• Work as part of a busy, task-focused facilities team
• Deliver high standards of hygiene, safety and service
Key duties
• Store linen and remove soiling in line with infection control guidelines
• Undertake full training in all linen duties and equipment
• Fold, pack and prepare linen for distribution
• Assist with linen deliveries to Sunderland Royal Hospital
• Collect used linen from wards, departments and theatres
• Seal used linen into laundry bags correctly
• Sort, classify and account for linen sent for processing
• Operate monitoring equipment for stock control
• Maintain cleanliness of linen trolleys and distribution areas
• Ensure linen distribution centre is clean and safe
Essential requirements
• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Experience working with frequent face-to-face contact with the public
• Ability to follow and prioritise instructions
• Physically able to bend, lift, stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment
Desirable
• Experience in a healthcare environment
• Commercial laundry experience
• Ability to carry out varied manual handling tasks
