About the role
This is a frontline security role within Sunderland Royal Hospital, focused on keeping patients, staff and visitors safe. You’ll be part of the hospital security team, responding to incidents, providing reassurance, and supporting a safe healthcare environment. A valid SIA licence is essential.
Key duties
Responding to violent or potentially violent incidents and situations where people fear physical harm
Attending scenes of actual or suspected crime and incidents in progress
Staffing the security control room, including CCTV monitoring and handling enquiries
Proactive internal and external patrols, securing buildings and sites
Providing information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff
Supporting crime prevention and responding to emergencies, including fire incidents
Car park duties and enforcement where required
Weekly collection of cash boxes from payment machines, involving loads over 20kg
Contributing to the Trust’s aim of creating a safe place to work, visit and stay
Essential requirement
Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence
