Role Overview

• Full-time, permanent Child Protection Specialist role
• Part of the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team in Sunderland
• Focused on supporting children and families where there are protection concerns
• Opportunity to work within an Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” children’s service

Key Responsibilities

• Work with families, professionals and partner organisations to safeguard children
• Support Children in Need of Protection through multi-agency collaboration
• Build relationships with family help teams and partner agencies
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures set by Together for Children and the Sunderland Safeguarding Board
• Help assess risks and support long-term positive outcomes for children and young people

Requirements

• Experience working within children’s social care or safeguarding services
• Ability to build strong professional relationships with multi-agency partners
• Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and child protection procedures
• Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families
