The role pays £27,040–£27,790 per year and involves working Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting families and caring for their loved ones throughout the funeral process.

Funeral Service Operatives are often among the first members of the team to meet families. The role requires a calm and professional approach, providing reassurance that their loved ones will be cared for respectfully.

Alongside working directly with families, the position includes important behind-the-scenes responsibilities. These include working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services and acting as a pallbearer.

The successful applicant will also drive company vehicles and participate in the out-of-hours and on-call rota, which provides an opportunity to earn additional payments.

Previous experience in the funeral industry is not essential. Funeral Partners says that having the right skills and attributes is more important, as comprehensive training will be provided. There are also opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications and progress into roles such as Funeral Director.
