ABOUT THE ROLE
• Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
• Supervise and manage kitchen staff
• Support staff training, scheduling and performance monitoring
• Oversee food production to ensure efficiency, safety and cleanliness
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
• Work with management to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard
• Manage stock levels and order supplies
• Minimise food waste
• Assist with customer service when required
• Monitor kitchen operations during service to maintain a smooth workflow
REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
• Supervisory experience and strong team management skills
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Strong understanding of food safety standards
• Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive working environment
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to multitask under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for culinary arts and delivering excellent customer experiences
• Relevant culinary arts or hospitality management qualifications desirable but not essential
