About The Role

Mariposa Care Group is looking for an Assistant Chef to join the team at Derwent Care Home, helping provide nutritious and delicious meals for residents.

Working alongside the Chef, you will help prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals while ensuring residents’ special dietary requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, cooking and serving meals.
• Help meet residents’ individual dietary requirements.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and help order food supplies.
• Check food deliveries.
• Ensure crockery and kitchen equipment are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and compliant with health and safety standards.

What The Employer Is Looking For

Applicants should ideally have:

• Experience working in a care home kitchen.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification, or equivalent, or a commitment to further training.
• Good English and numeracy skills.
• A genuine passion for caring for adults and supporting their wellbeing.
