Working Hours: Monday To Friday, Rotating Shifts Of 7am–3pm And 3pm–11pm

Greencore Group is recruiting a Weight Check Operator at its Consett site, which produces chilled ready meals for major UK retailers. The successful candidate will carry out production-line quality checks to ensure meals meet customer weight, appearance, temperature, labelling and traceability requirements.

Full training will be provided to successful applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check meal weights against customer specifications using calibrated weights, recording and correcting any discrepancies.
• Monitor meal size, appearance and sauce temperatures, reporting any issues immediately.
• Check and calibrate weighing machines where required.
• Ensure operators are informed of product specifications.
• Set printers with the correct day codes, product codes, product names, line numbers and batch details.
• Check that meals are coded correctly after heat sealing.
• Maintain accurate traceability paperwork in line with customer requirements.
• Complete daily equipment checks for cleanliness and damage.
• Report issues to senior operators, management or the technical team.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety requirements and factory procedures.
• Maintain clean and tidy working areas and adapt to schedule changes when needed.

Requirements:

• Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good time management.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills for completing traceability records.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Allergen awareness.
• Level 2 Food Safety qualification is preferred but not essential.
