A Sunderland woman is seeking to track down a good Samaritan who saved her son’s life on the Northern Spire Bridge.

Beckie Hazel asks: Hi, Bit of a long shot…are you able to post this….does anyone know someone who rang the police about 2am Fri morning as they were concerned for someone on Spire bridge? That person on the bridge was my son. The call to the police saved his life. I’d love them to know what that call meant to me and how that concerned caller saved us from a completely different outcome. True hero. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, whoever you are. 💓

I’ve put it on the Nextdoor app and have received such kind comments but no luck finding the caller. I know it’s a long shot but I’d love them to know what their call means to us. I still have my son. It’s a long road but we’ve now got the chance to help him. Thank god 🙏”
