Carley Hill man accused of death by dangerous driving relating to crash 11 years ago “expected to plead guilty”

A Carley Hill man accused of causing death by dangerous driving in a crash over a decade ago is expected to plead guilty, a court has heard.

Kevin Hubbard, 67, is charged over a collision on the A19 in Sunderland on November 5, 2014. The crash left Keith Jameson, then in his 60s, seriously injured. Mr Jameson died on April 16, 2024.

Hubbard has missed two hearings at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court due to medical issues. His solicitor told the court that “a guilty plea is likely.” The case will now proceed to Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday, December 3. He remains on unconditional bail.
