Connor Brown Foundation’s Bleed Kits save first life at Swan Lodge

A bleed kit donated by the Connor Brown foundation was used successfully for the first time to help save someone’s life at Swan Lodge, the charity has reported.

The foundation, set up in the name of the beloved late Connor Brown, who was tragically murdered in Sunderland City Centre in 2019, dedicates itself to fighting the impact of knife crime, saving lives and raising awareness.

To this end, the foundation has worked to supply bleed kits to organisations all over Sunderland to help respond to life threatening situations that could be caused by blood loss.

The charity wrote in a statement on facebook on Monday evening: “An incident involved an individual who had a catastrophic bleed which required prompt action by Staff from Swan Lodge. Aware of the Bleed Kit on site at Swan Lodge, it was retrieved, tourniquet was used to reduce the bleeding to the injury. The individual involved was transported to hospital. They are now recovering well following the prompt actions of our staff and the availability of the Bleed Kit.”
