About The Role:
Bar 33 is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help operate its premium speakeasy-style cocktail bar in Durham. The role involves working closely with the team to oversee daily operations, maintain high service standards, manage stock and deliveries, and contribute to the development of new offerings.
The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach, working both behind the bar and on the operational and administrative side of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day bar operations alongside the team.
- Manage stock orders and deliveries.
- Maintain high standards of service and customer experience.
- Contribute to new menu offerings and cocktail development.
- Manage stock effectively and ensure supplies are organised.
- Work behind the bar while handling the administrative tasks required to operate the business.
- Help develop the venue’s creative direction and cocktail offering.
Requirements:
- At least one year of management-level experience, ideally in premium hospitality.
- Essential experience managing and ordering stock.
- Experience working with cocktails and menus.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, modern classics and contemporary cocktail techniques is a significant advantage.
- Ability to make syrups and garnishes, or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and multitasking abilities.
- A hands-on approach to leadership and daily operations.
Experience with techniques such as clarification, carbonation, foams and switching would be beneficial.
