About The Role
Bells Fish & Chips is looking for a Takeaway Assistant to join its team in Durham. This role involves supporting both front-of-house and kitchen operations, helping to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and package takeaway meals to food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation, cooking and meal assembly
- Serve customers and take orders accurately
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the premises
- Restock supplies during busy service periods
- Follow health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Support general cleaning duties to maintain high standards
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient service
What Bells Fish & Chips Is Looking For
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous catering, restaurant or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential
