Ferry View is looking for a friendly, reliable and professional Barista to join its coffee shop team in South Shields.
The successful candidate will prepare and serve a range of drinks, welcome customers and help ensure the coffee shop runs smoothly. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, takes pride in their work and can perform well in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare espresso-based coffees, iced drinks, matcha and other menu items according to recipes.
- Take customer orders, operate the till and process payments accurately.
- Provide welcoming and attentive customer service.
- Assist with food service and keep displays stocked and presentable.
- Clean and maintain coffee equipment and work areas.
- Replenish stock and follow storage and stock rotation procedures.
- Follow food hygiene and allergen procedures, checking information before advising customers.
- Assist with opening and closing duties when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Three years of barista experience.
- Three years of matcha experience.
- A friendly and professional manner.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
- Reliable timekeeping and a positive team attitude.
- Willingness to learn the menu, recipes and service standards.
