First Gymnastics Newcastle is looking for a passionate and dedicated Level 2 Gymnastics Coach to help young athletes develop their gymnastics skills in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE5, with classes across Gateshead, Kenton and Whitley Bay

Salary: £23 Per Hour

Contract: Part-Time

Minimum Hours: 3.5 Hours Per Week

About The Role

The successful candidate will plan and deliver gymnastics sessions for children and young athletes at different skill levels. The role involves teaching techniques, monitoring progress, maintaining safety standards and helping gymnasts build confidence and teamwork.

Classes run seven days a week across three venues, providing some flexibility in scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging gymnastics sessions suited to different abilities.
• Teach correct techniques, safety procedures and the importance of physical fitness.
• Monitor each gymnast’s progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised training environment.
• Ensure gymnastics equipment is used and stored correctly.
• Work with other coaches to develop training programmes.
• Help organise and take part in gymnastics events, competitions and showcases.
• Communicate with parents about children’s progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Relevant gymnastics coaching qualifications, with Level 2 coaching required for the advertised role.
• Experience in sports coaching, particularly gymnastics or a related discipline.
• The ability to teach techniques clearly and effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team while also showing initiative.
• A passion for encouraging children to develop their physical fitness and sporting abilities.

First Aid certification is advantageous.

Pay And Benefits

• £23 per hour for Level 2 coaches.
