Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers during practical classes and rehearsals
- Encourage and engage children and young people aged 4–18
- Help ensure the smooth running of academy sessions
- Assist with performances, projects and other academy activities
- Work alongside the teaching team in Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama, and Film & TV classes
Working Pattern
- Part-time
- Freelance position
- Saturdays only
- Approximately 10:00am–1:00pm during academy term dates
Requirements
- Enthusiastic, energetic and confident working with young people
- Reliable and able to commit to Saturday sessions
- Interest or background in performing arts, drama, musical theatre or Film & TV
- Must be aged 18 or over
- A-Level or equivalent preferred
- Enhanced DBS check required (can be arranged if necessary)
About The Role
Pauline Quirke Academy is recruiting a Performing Arts Teaching Assistant to join its Saturday academy in Sunderland from September. The successful candidate will support classes in Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama, and Film & TV, helping to create an engaging learning environment for children and young people while gaining valuable practical experience in a busy performing arts academy.
