About The Role

Tesco is looking for Customer Delivery Drivers to join its team at Durham Extra.

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will deliver customers’ shopping directly to their homes, providing friendly and reliable service. The role involves driving, handling orders carefully and helping customers with substitutions, order changes and any issues with their deliveries.

You will work independently for much of your shift, with support from managers and colleagues at the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised.
• Load the van safely and complete vehicle checks before setting off.
• Explain substitutions, order changes and short-dated products to customers.
• Offer refunds where needed to resolve order issues.
• Handle shopping carefully to maintain product quality.
• Deliver orders within the customer’s allocated time slot.
• Provide friendly, professional service at customers’ doorsteps.
• Work with colleagues to maintain high standards of customer service.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A valid full UK, EU or EEA driving licence, including automatic licences.
• At least 12 months of driving licence experience.
• No more than three penalty points on their licence.
• A welcoming and customer-focused attitude.
• The ability to adapt to changing customer needs and working conditions.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Working Hours

The advertised availability windows are:

• Sunday: 1:30pm–11pm
• Tuesday: 6pm–11pm
• Saturday: 1:30pm–11pm

The employer guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per week, although some roles are available from 12 hours.
