- Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard during service
- Assist senior chefs with food preparation
- Support stock control
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness

- Help train junior kitchen team members
- Support all aspects of kitchen operations when required

About The Role
The Beresford Arms in Whalton is recruiting a full-time Sous Chef to join its experienced kitchen team.
The country pub, located a short drive from Morpeth and Ponteland, has been recognised with several regional hospitality awards, including Pub of the Year 2024 at the North East Tourism Awards and B&B and Guest House of the Year 2025.
The successful candidate will help prepare and cook high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients and local suppliers. The role will also involve supporting senior chefs with preparation and stock control, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and ensuring health, safety, allergen and hygiene standards are followed.
The position offers a starting salary of £13 per hour, plus tips, alongside company pension, employee discounts, discounted or free food and on-site parking.
