HOURS
• 40 hours per week
• Monday–Friday
• Overtime available where applicable
ABOUT THE ROLE
• Work alongside experienced members of the Property Maintenance team
• Receive practical training across a range of building trades
• Help maintain and improve residential and commercial properties
• Develop practical property maintenance and construction skills
• Receive training and mentoring to support progression
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• Painting and decorating
• Joinery and basic carpentry repairs
• Flooring installation
• Kitchen and bathroom fitting
• Brickwork and pointing repairs
• Property refurbishment
• Health and Safety in construction and maintenance
• Project administration and record keeping
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with residential and commercial property refurbishments
• Carry out property clear-outs
• Painting and decorating
• Flooring installation and repairs
• Kitchen and bathroom installations
• Joinery repairs
• Assist external contractors including joiners, plumbers, roofers and electricians
• Re-pointing and minor masonry repairs
• Clearing drainage systems and gutters
• External painting and woodwork maintenance
• Assist with minor roof repairs, including working at height
• Fencing and site clearances
• Update Excel spreadsheets for refurbishment projects and estate maintenance programmes
• Provide general administrative support to the Building Manager and Estate Manager
REQUIREMENTS
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Genuine interest in learning practical building and property maintenance skills
• Enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn
• Enjoy practical hands-on work indoors and outdoors
• Take pride in completing work to a good standard
• Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
• Good communication skills
• Courteous approach when dealing with tenants, contractors and members of the public
• Willingness to learn a wide range of maintenance and construction skills
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one
• Previous property maintenance experience beneficial but not essential
