Key Responsibilities
- Lead lively and safe walks for dogs of different breeds and temperaments
- Ensure dogs receive sufficient exercise and mental stimulation
- Observe dogs’ behaviour during walks and respond to signs of distress or discomfort
- Manage dog waste responsibly and maintain a clean environment
- Communicate with pet owners about their dogs’ activities, behaviour and any concerns
- Follow established safety procedures to help prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with basic animal care when required, including feeding or administering medication under supervision
- Keep detailed records of walks, including notable behaviour or health issues
Requirements
- A genuine interest in animals and dog care
- Ability to safely handle dogs of different breeds and temperaments
- Good communication skills when dealing with pet owners
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow safety procedures and responsible animal-care practices
- Willingness to complete the provided accredited training
About The Role
Treat Me Pet Services is recruiting a Dog Walker in Sunderland to join its growing network of Independent Pet Service Professionals.
The successful applicant will provide dog walking, pet visit and pet sitting services for customers in their local area. The company offers flexibility, allowing Pet Service Professionals to set their own hours, choose their working area and decide which services they are happy to provide.
