Northumbria Police issues appeal after man suffers series head injuries in South Shields

Northumbria police have issued a public appeal after a man was found with serious head injuries in South Shields.
The statement reads: “Shortly before midnight on Thursday evening, we received a report that a man in 40s had attended South Tyneside District Hospital with serious head injuries.
Enquiries found that the victim had been in Bun Bun, on Charlotte Street in South Shields, earlier that evening when he left the premises at about 8.20pm, walking towards the Beach Road area.
At about 8.50pm he was found outside Cask Lounge, also on Charlotte Street, with serious injuries to his head.
Officers believe he sustained the injuries sometime between 8.25pm and 8.50pm.
Officers are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding how the man came to sustain the injuries and enquiries are ongoing.
The man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The victim was wearing shorts and a white t-shirt with a distinctive red cherry logo on it at the time he sustained his injuries. “
