PAEDOPHILE groomed little girl with cabbage patch doll before sexually abusing her
A Gateshead man has been jailed over historic child sex abuse in the 1980s.
Daniel Kristiansen, now 80, was convicted at Newcastle Crown Court of indecent assault after grooming a young girl with promises of a Cabbage Patch Kids doll. He told the child he’d try to get her the toy if she “did what he wanted”, before getting her to touch him and saying, “Come on, we’re just being nice.”
The court heard Kristiansen, then living in Gateshead, would go round pubs selling snacks and fish, and would talk about his penis “almost like it was a pet”.
The victim said the abuse had a lasting impact, leading to depression, anxiety, and a deep sense of anger. “He is the abuser and preyed upon my vulnerability for his own gain,” she said in a statement.
