The Body Shop announces 75 store closures, including two in the North East

The Body Shop is closing 75 more stores following its collapse into administration including two branches in the North East.

The shops will all shut permanently in the next four to six weeks. As a result of the closures, 489 staff will be made redundant.

The Body Shop has already closed seven stores as part of its administration process, meaning 82 branches will have closed over the next few weeks.

However, administrators at FRP Advisory have confirmed that its remaining 116 shops will stay open

The two stores to close in the North East include Durham City and Morpeth.

Sunderland’s store in The Bridges is to remain open.
