These Chocolate bars are being urgently recalled with ‘do not eat’ warning issued after leaving multiple people sick

A chocolate bar is urgently being recalled after a number of people fell ill and a warning from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) was issued.

The bar, known as ‘Cali-Gold’ chocolate bars have made a number of people ill around the midlands area where they first originated from.

The FSA says: “We are working with relevant authorities to find out whether there has been wider distribution of this product.”

It follows police reports of illness in the Nottinghamshire area after consuming these products. The police have arrested one person in connection with the incident. “We are working with local authorities, the UK Health Security Agency and Nottinghamshire Police to investigate an incident following reports of illness after eating Cali-Gold chocolate,” the FSA said on its website.

If you have purchased ‘Cali-Gold’ chocolate from Mansfield Market in Nottinghamshire you should not consume the product and dispose of it at home. If you have already eaten it and developed symptoms, then you should urgently seek medical attention.

Tina Potter, Head of Incidents, Food Standards Agency, said: “We are working with local authorities, the UK Health Security Agency and Nottinghamshire Police to investigate an incident following reports of illness after eating Cali-Gold chocolate.

“If you have purchased ‘Cali-Gold’ chocolate… you should not consume the product and dispose of it at home.” Tina went on: “If you have already eaten it and developed symptoms, then you should urgently seek medical attention.”
