Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and natural customer service
- Build relationships with customers and understand their needs
- Develop confidence and knowledge of Tesco products and services
- Support customers across different areas of the store
- Replenish shelves
- Provide checkout service
- Pick online customer orders
- Provide occasional delivery assistance
- Complete general service and replenishment duties

- Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate openly
Requirements
- Must be aged 18 or over

About The Role
Tesco UK is recruiting a part-time Tesco Colleague for its Gateshead store, with an early start time of 04:30am.
The successful candidate will join a customer-focused store team where the role can involve a variety of daily duties. Responsibilities include shelf replenishment, checkout service, online order picking, occasional delivery assistance and general store service and replenishment tasks.
Customer service is at the centre of the position. Colleagues are expected to greet customers positively, build rapport, understand their needs and provide helpful and natural service. The role also involves understanding how individual responsibilities contribute to sales, waste reduction and overall store performance.
The position guarantees a minimum of 12 hours per week. Contracted hours will be scheduled within the agreed availability windows, with Tesco providing at least three weeks’ notice of shifts.
The advertised rate is £13.28 per hour. The listing states that rates can rise to £14.55 in stores within the M25, while some locations may offer additional payments.
