ABOUT THE ROLE
APHA is seeking a Product Owner to join its Project Delivery and Portfolio Management team, supporting digital products and services connected with international trade.
The role involves working with policy, technical and external stakeholders to support new ways of working, digital systems and policy initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and maintain relationships with policy customer groups involved in the EU-NI Borders and Trade programme
• Work with the Digital Programme Manager, Senior Product Manager and subject matter experts
• Support activity across work areas affected by the Animals and Plants International Trade Platforms
• Support the design, development and implementation of policy initiatives and reforms
• Participate in project teams and working groups
• Support the development of fit-for-purpose Animal and Plant IT systems and processes
• Manage responsibilities and workload to deliver changing priorities
• Deputise for the Senior Product Manager where applicable
REQUIREMENTS
• Experience leading operational change, projects or IT programmes
• Experience gathering, analysing and translating business requirements into product priorities and deliverable outcomes
• Ability to provide quality customer service and respond to changing demands
• Ability to manage performance targets and results across multiple work areas
• Experience working with stakeholders and delivery partners
• Experience delivering results across multiple work areas
• Experience working within agile or digital delivery environments
• Experience managing priorities and supporting continuous improvement

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
The role is contractually based at one of the listed APHA locations, including Newcastle upon Tyne.

• Civil Servants are expected to spend at least 60% of working time in an organisation workplace
• Remaining time can be worked flexibly from home
