Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Hours: Approximately 38 Hours Per Week
Working Days: Monday To Friday

Wade Building Services is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join its steel fabrication team at its Birtley workshop.

The company manufactures and supplies a range of steel products, including structural steelwork, builders’ steel, beams, columns and bespoke fabricated components.

The successful candidate will have good MIG welding and general steel fabrication experience, with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out MIG welding and fabricate steel components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details.
• Cut, prepare, assemble and weld steel to the required specifications.
• Inspect finished work to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely.
• Assist with general workshop duties when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Essential Requirements:

• At least two years of MIG welding experience.
• Previous experience in MIG welding and steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience using fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A reliable and practical approach to work.

Experience in structural steel fabrication would be an advantage but is not essential. Welding qualifications or coding would also be beneficial.

Pay And Benefits:

• £16.50–£17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
