Ferry View is looking for an experienced, hands-on Duty Manager to help run its coffee shop venues in South Shields.

The successful candidate will mainly work at Ferry View, with flexibility to cover shifts at its sister venue, Craft & Crumb. This is an active role combining team leadership, coffee preparation, food service and day-to-day venue management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily shifts, allocate tasks and manage service.
• Maintain high standards of coffee preparation, food presentation and customer care.
• Support staff training and provide clear, constructive guidance.
• Complete opening, closing and cashing-up procedures accurately.
• Monitor stock levels, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleaning and allergen management procedures.
• Handle customer questions and complaints professionally.
• Report staffing, maintenance and operational issues to management.
• Provide cover at both venues when required.

Essential Requirements:

• At least three years of management experience.
• At least three years of coffee experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a café, coffee shop or similar hospitality setting.
• Barista experience and confidence using a commercial coffee machine.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence leading a team and making decisions during busy periods.
• A reliable, approachable attitude and willingness to get involved.
• Ability to work at both South Shields venues.
